SSC MTS, Havaldar Vacancy 2025 Eligibility, Application Process: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on November 27 released the tentative vacancy list for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS Non-Technical) and Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN for the 2025 recruitment cycle. As many as 7,948 vacancies across various states and Union Territories have been announced.
The figures, updated as of November 27, 2025, give insights into region-wise and category-wise distribution.
According to the data, the SSC MTS under the 18 to 25 years category accounts for a major share of positions, with 6,078 vacancies, while the MTS under the 18 to 27 years category includes 732 vacancies.
In addition, 1,138 posts have been earmarked for Havaldar positions under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) as well as the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN). Together, these make up the final tentative total.
The North Region, which includes Delhi, features one of the highest vacancy concentrations. Delhi alone has been allotted 1,961 MTS posts in the 18–25 age category, making it the single largest contributor to total openings.
States including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh also show significant numbers across both MTS age groups.
Maharashtra has more than 700 MTS vacancies, while West Bengal has over 540 in the primary category.

In the Havaldar category, vacancies are also widely distributed, with Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat accounting for the highest numbers.
The Havaldar list spreads across nearly all chief commissionerates, including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Vadodara, Ranchi and Jaipur, reflecting the operational workforce requirements of customs and GST formations throughout the country.
The commission has also released the reservation details, including posts earmarked for Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Disabilities such as OH, HH, VH and other PwD categories.
With recruitment offering postings in central tax, customs and other field formations, the announcement provides clarity on employment prospects across states. Final vacancy numbers may be revised later depending on updates from ministries and departments, but the current list gives a comprehensive picture of expected opportunities in the 2025 cycle.
