Samsung is set to reveal its new generation of flagship Galaxy S25 series of smartphones in its event, Galaxy Unpacked, from San Jose, California, US. This latest lineup of smartphones offers major upgrades, featuring the high-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Android 15 with OneUI 7 and teasing a new AI. Samsung is anticipated to unveil four new models, including the powerful Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25, and the all-new Galaxy S25 Slim, marking a first for the Galaxy S series.

S25 Galaxy Series

The lineup starts with S25 Galaxy, which is targeted towards consumers who prefer smaller and compact screens in their flagship smartphones. According to sources, S25 has a rumoured Full HD screen of 6.2 inches which supports a frame rate of 120Hz. While S25+ has a slightly larger 6.7 inches screen with Quad HD resolution and supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. Both the S25 models come with a wide lens of 50 Megapixels and share high quality Telephoto and Ultrawide lens with sporting a 12 Megapixels front facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is anticipated to be the largest in the lineup, featuring a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 3,120×1,440 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is rumored to launch in three storage options—256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The device is expected to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, similar to the Plus variant. In terms of cameras, it will likely boast a quad-camera setup, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor.

The entire S25 family is rumoured to be powered on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, marking the departure of Samsung using its own Exynos Processor.

OneUI 7 Highlights

Launching alongside the Galaxy S25 series, OneUI 7 brings a range of new design and security enhancements. A key feature is the customizable Lock Screen Now Bar, enabling users to tailor their lock screen experience. Additionally, the camera controls are getting a revamp for improved usability, while home screen widgets will be optimized for greater efficiency.Security and privacy are also getting a significant upgrade with the Knox Matrix Dashboard, offering centralized security management, passkey-based authentication, and a new Theft Detection Lock feature.
