Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is back with yet another generation leap. Param Singh who is set to play the new lead in the show gets candid about his character, returning to TV after a break and more. Helmed by Cockcrow and Shaika, the show has been fans favourite.
Returning to TV shows after Ishq Par Zor Nahi, what kept you away?
Yes, I am entering a TV show after 3 and a half years. What kept me away was the stage, a couple of web series and a film. There are three projects that I am a part of and unfortunately, I haven’t completed the shoot due to certain situations, so that kept me away. I was just waiting for the release and shoot, meanwhile, I got this opportunity so I felt that I could take a TV show after such a long gap.
Entering a show which already holds a legacy, does that add pressure?
No, I don’t want to take pressure for anything. I just want to do my job with utmost sincerity and honesty. I just want to be organic and do my work. Just want to have fun and do the character with honesty. I am just grateful that I am doing a show like Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin which has been on air for more than four years. I am excited and looking forward to doing lot of different scenes, finding the soul of the character and just being Neel.
You have a completely different look in this one from your previous shows, tell us about it.
Yes, the look is very different. I am playing a Gynaec in the show, the look is very sober, sophisticated, very simple, very regular. I am very happy with my character’s look, it is very different from what I have done. From any character that I have done on the web, stage or TV. I have never been offered a character like that because I have only done intense, grey-shade roles. This is the first time I am playing a role which is very simple, sweet and honest. He is a very nice person. I think the makers are trying to show how good people eventually win. I am happy that I am not playing a hero-hero character, who has hair all done, tight-fitted clothes. Neel is a man next door with a simple look.
