X was down for thousands of users in the United States on Thursday. The platform Down Detector, which detects such outages based on users’ reports, showed more than 5,000 people reporting an outage with the platform, formerly known as Twitter. As of this reporting, more than 5,665 users reported facing problems with X. Most of the problems were with X’s website, with 53% reporting. 46% reported issues with the mobile app of X, while a minimal 1% said they could not post tweets.
As per the latest report on Down Detector, more than 18,000 people are reporting an outage with X. Users said that while the ‘For You’ tab was functional, they were unable to see their following. Moreover, the trending posts window was inaccessible for many users, with posts not loading, as the message, “Hmmm…something went wrong” flashing.
