How to join the Fighters Guild in Oblivion Remastered
There are a few ways to join the Fighters Guild in Oblivion Remastered. Stick to the main quest early on and you’ll come across one without much trouble.
If you’re a little late to the party, various Fighters Guild branches can be found all over Cyrodiil, offering an alternative route to membership.
If you’re on the main quest to deliver Uriel Septim’s amulet, Chorrol, close to Weynon Priory, where the Emperor’s guard told you to head after the old man’s demise, is your first chance to join the establishment.
You’ll still have to travel far to accept your first contract if you start your Fighters Guild journey in Chorrol, but just becoming a member makes all the loot in a Fighters Guild hall fair game, saving (or making) you a small fortune.
If you’re not due in Chorrol for some time, you can join the Fighters Guild chapters at Anvil, along the Gold Coast in southwest Cyrodiil, and Cheydinhal, found in the northeast in the Nibenay Basin.

Chorrol Fighters Guild location
Found in the northwestern corner of Cyrodiil along the Black Road is Chorrol—likely the easiest option for joining the Fighters Guild early in the game.
Once you reach the city, look for Vilena Donton. Though she spends most of her day in her office on the second floor of the Fighters Guild, check around town as you approach her house on Great Oak Place out of business hours.
Chat with Vilena to join the Fighters Guild. She’ll then instruct you to visit the Anvil or Cheydinhal branches to accept your first contract. You’ll return to her as part of the third contract after completing the ones in the other two cities.

Anvil Fighters Guild location
The Anvil Fighter’s Guild can be found close to the center of town, not far from Heinrich’s house and the Mages Guild.
Once inside, look for Azzan, the Redguard Knight in silver heavy armor. He’s usually around as soon as the sun rises, wandering the guild halls until the evening, where he shifts to the training dummies before heading to the dining hall.
Speak with Azzan to join the Fighters Guild and begin the quest ‘A Rat Problem’, which tasks you to deal with, you guessed it, a rat problem in the basement of Arvena Thelas’ house.
Azzan also happens to be the Blunt Weapon trainer. If you prefer to bash things to death with a mace, axe, club, or hammer, or technically even the bow, he’s your man.

Cheydinhal Fighters Guild location
Found in the western part of the city, not far from the Mages Guide, the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild chapter is managed by Burz gro-Khash, an Orc Barbarian.
If you’re there for sunrise on a dry day, you might just intercept Burz gro-Khash before he heads off to the mound between the town’s two bridges. He heads back a few hours before noon, beginning his duty of monitoring the Fighters Guild halls.
Find and speak with Burz gro-Khash to join the Fighters Guild and trigger his quest chain, beginning with The Desolate Mine. This job asks that you deliver a weapons shipment to the named location.
Why can’t I join the Fighters Guild?
If you decided to mimic Grand Theft Auto at the very start of the game by robbing a guard’s horse (or worse), you might have a tough time joining the Fighters Guild.
They won’t allow anyone with a Bounty on their head to enlist, nor will they associate with someone with high Infamy. Unless you have high Fame to boot, in which case they’re all ears.

How do I rejoin the Fighters Guild?
If you commit a crime against a guild member (or your horse), you’ll be ostracised from the Fighters Guild.
To rejoin, you need to bring 20 Bear Pelts to Vilena Donton, the head of the guild chapter in Chorrol. It doesn’t matter who you first spoke to when joining the guild, Vilena is the only one who can forgive your sins.
After a second incident, you’ll need to bring her 20 Minotaur Horns instead. A much trickier task.
Put another foot wrong and you’ll be booted out for good. The Fighters Guild works on a three-strike system. You can avoid all the trouble by becoming the Master of the Fighters Guild first. You can’t boot yourself out, after all.
