Woodstock School, nestled in the scenic hills of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, holds the distinction of being one of Asia’s oldest and most prestigious boarding schools. Established in 1854, the school boasts a rich heritage, a sprawling 250-acre campus, and a reputation for academic excellence and global recognition.

Academic Excellence and Accreditations

Woodstock offers a comprehensive education from Kindergarten to Grade 12, with boarding facilities beginning from Grade 6. It became the first school in Asia to earn accreditation from the Middle States Association in 1960. In 2019, it achieved the prestigious status of an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), making it a leader in global education.

Admission Process

Admissions for the academic year beginning in August open in November of the previous year and close by March 15. The admission process includes written assessments and interviews. Applicants for Grade 6 must be at least 11 years old by July 31 of the admission year. The selection process ensures that students align with the school’s strong academic and community values.

Fee Structure

Known as one of the most expensive schools in India, Woodstock School’s annual fees are as follows:

  • Grades 6 to 8: ₹17,00,000
  • Grades 9 and 10: ₹17,60,000

In addition to tuition, new admissions require a one-time non-refundable establishment fee of ₹4,00,000 and a refundable security deposit of ₹3,00,000.

Financial Aid Opportunities

Despite its high fees, Woodstock School emphasizes accessibility. Each year, the institution provides between $1 million and $1.5 million in financial aid to deserving students. Applicants seeking financial assistance must submit a separate grant application during the admission process.

Facilities and Student Life

The campus is equipped with modern classrooms, advanced science and computer labs, a vast library, and top-tier sports facilities.
