Xbox just closed out its latest summer showcase with a colossal reveal. Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is real, and you can get your first look at a cinematic for the game below.
That’s right, Black Ops 7 is coming. The multiplayer FPS game is going to be set in 2035, as David Mason leads a Black Ops team against “a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else.” For those of you who’ve not been playing CoD for a decade or more, that means this is a sort of sequel to Black Ops 2. That game was set in 2025, and also saw you playing as David Mason – so we’re going back to the future!

The officially Call of Duty Twitter account has also confirmed that Black Ops 6 will have a co-op campaign, new multiplayer maps, and “The next twisted chapter of Round-Based Zombies in the Dark Aether.” An official reveal is also coming this summer.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 has officially been revealed at the end of the Xbox showcase, but there’s not release date just yet.
