A WWE championship has now been vacated, with it being announced that the champion was forced to relinquish the gold due to injury.
A new NXT Heritage Cup Champion will be determined on the June 24 NXT episode, with the title now officially vacated.
NXT General Manager Ava took to Twitter to announce that Noam Dar is unable to compete on Tuesday’s show, and that he will have to relinquish his gold.
Dar was originally slated to defend his gold against Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.
Ava noted that Stacks will instead face a currently unnamed opponent on NXT for the vacant NXT Heritage Cup Championship.
She wrote:
Due to injury, Noam Dar will not be able to compete this Tuesday and will have to relinquish the NXT Heritage Cup Championship.
This Tuesday, Stacks with compete in a match to crown a new Heritage Cup Champion against an opponent to be named. @WWENXT
The title being vacated ends Dar’s fourth reign with the gold. His most recent stint as Heritage Cup Champion began on the April 22 NXT episode, with Dar defeating Lexis King for the gold.
We wish Noam Dar a safe and healthy recovery.
