An Orange County middle school teacher is in jail after being accused of having sex with a student in a classroom. Sarah Jacas was arrested on Monday and faced a judge for the first time on Tuesday afternoon. She is being held in the Orange County Jail.Investigators say this happened more than once at Corner Lake Middle School. Orange County Public Schools confirmed to WESH 2 that she’s an employee there. This all allegedly happened during the 2022-2023 school year. Investigators say Jacas is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy during lunchtime. The arrest report states Jacas allegedly placed curtains over the classroom’s windows and locked the door at one point. The boy told detectives he would eat lunch in her classroom because he had issues fitting in. In court, the judge revealed that Jacas is married and is the mother of a 12-year-old. Detectives say Jacas told the boy her husband allegedly found out about their relationship and threatened to report her. The judge ordered her not to have any contact with the victim or any witnesses in this case. Jacas was given a bond of $19,000 for all her charges. I can assure you I take all allegations very seriously and there is an ongoing investigation by law enforcement and the district’s Office of Professional Standards. Although I cannot discuss employee matters, please know this person will not be returning to campus pending the outcome of the investigation. Please contact me at school if you have any questions. Thank you for listening and for your continued support.”As for Jacas’ employee status, the school says she will not be returning, pending the outcome of the investigation.
