Bigg Boss 19: Popular music director and singer Amaal Mallik has revealed that he used to have a crush on Shraddha Kapoor when they were in school. He said Shraddha was his senior and wore dentures in school. He said that Shraddha’s simplicity and honesty won him over, and are the real reason behind her humongous Instagram following.
Amaal Mallik said, “School main bhi… Dentures pehen ke aati thi, meri senior thi… Meri school ki crush thi, aur insaan bhi itni sweetheart. Poore internet pe sabse asli following uss ladki ki hai bina kuch kiye. Na koi nakli followers na kuch.” Amaal went on to enact how Shraddha Kapoor humourously danced in one of her Instagram posts, reiterating that the actress likes to be real on social media.
He pointed out that Shraddha has a huge following on Instagram and is one of the top actresses in the country. Recalling her scene in Stree 2, he said, “Uska ek scene hai where she arrives and the hair, choti se maarti hai sabko… Taaliyan hai theatres main.” He noted that Mohit Suri’s depiction of Shraddha Kapoor as the innocent Aarohi in Aashiqui 2 “changed everything” for the actress.
Amaal Mallik has become the talk of the town since his Bigg Boss 19 entry, as his fans didn’t imagine they would see him on the show. During the premiere of Bigg Boss 19, Salman Khan also expressed his surprise over Amaal participating in the reality show. Amaal replied that he wanted to connect with his fans and wanted them to see the real side of him.
He said that he has been ‘misunderstood’ a lot. “I think that happened because I found success a bit too early. When you get that kind of success at 24, suddenly… I think I’ve mellowed down with age, slowed my pace a bit. So I thought, why not use this show to connect with all the people who’ve shown me love for the past 10 years? They know the music, but maybe not the person behind it. I want them to meet the real Amaal — not the one whose words or tweets accidentally turned into headlines. That Amaal exists too, but I want to show why he is the way he is,” Amaal said.
