IBPS AFO Prelims Exam Analysis 2025 (30 August Shift 1): Section-Wise Review

The IBPS AFO Prelims exam was conducted online with 150 questions for 125 marks. Each section had a 40-minute timer and the overall duration was 120 minutes. Below is the section-wise analysis with topics, number of questions, and examples as recalled by students.

IBPS AFO Questions Asked – Reasoning Section

The Reasoning section was generally considered moderate to difficult, with many students finding the puzzles and seating arrangement questions to be tricky and time-consuming. While topics like Inequalities, Blood Relation, and Direction were easier, puzzles (floor, square, bidirectional, certain arrangement) took a lot of time to solve.

Students reported 4-5 Direction questions (with one answer being 3m East), and a mix of Blood Relation, Coding-Decoding, and Data Sufficiency questions. IBPS AFO Questions Asked – English Section

The English section of the IBPS AFO Prelims 2025 (Shift 1) was considered easy and manageable by most candidates. Out of 50 questions, many students were able to attempt 22-26 questions with good accuracy, indicating that the expected cutoff could stay on the higher side. IBPS AFO Questions Asked – Quantitative Aptitude Section

The Quantitative Aptitude section in IBPS AFO Prelims 2025 (Shift 1) was rated easy to moderate. Many candidates felt the section was highly attemptable, especially with straightforward approximation and number series questions. Data Interpretation (DI) sets were calculation-based but manageable, covering caselates, pie charts, line graphs, and tables. Arithmetic questions were a mix of standard topics like Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Boats & Streams, and Mixtures, with a few word problems on Mensuration and Partnership.

One student highlighted a Partnership question with Riya, Piya, and Diya, where the correct answer came out to be ₹18,000. Approximation (5 questions) and Wrong Number Series (5 questions based on squares, cubes, multiplication, and division) were also found to be easy.
