Hero GST rate cut: India’s largest 2-wheeler company announces price reduction, check model-wise new rate list here

Hero MotoCorp announced on Wednesday that it will reduce the prices of its two-wheelers by up to Rs 15,743. The company said the move is to pass on the full benefit of the GST rate cut to customers. The revised pricing will come into effect from September 22, the company said in a regulatory filing. The price cut will apply across several models, including motorcycles like the Splendor+, Glamour, and the Xtreme range, as well as scooters such as the Xoom, Destini, and Pleasure+. The company noted that customers can avail price benefits of up to Rs 15,743 on select models (ex-showroom Delhi).

Hero CEO welcomes GST reforms

Welcoming the GST rate reduction, Hero MotoCorp CEO Vikram Kasbekar said, “The government’s next-gen GST 2.0 reforms will boost consumption, empower GDP growth, and accelerate India’s journey to a USD 5 trillion economy.”
Kasbekar highlighted the importance of two-wheelers in daily life. “In addition, more than half of the Indian households use two-wheelers for their daily needs, making it critical for mass mobility,” he said.

The CEO further noted that the price cut comes at a suitable time. “It makes two-wheelers more affordable and accessible for India’s largest consumer base, while giving a strong demand push,” Kasbekar said, adding that the move is timely ahead of the festive season.

Leadership change at Hero

Hero MotoCorp recently appointed Harshavardhan Chitale as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 5, 2026. He currently heads the professional business at Dutch lighting company Signify. Chitale will succeeded Vikram Kasbekar, who was serving as acting CEO after the resignation of Niranjan Gupta earlier this year.
Chairman Pawan Munjal said Chitale’s appointment will support the company’s focus on electric and new mobility solutions. “Mr. Chitale’s appointment will accelerate the ‘Splendor’ motorcycle maker’s push into electric and emerging mobility,” Munjal noted in the company’s statement.
Chitale previously led Philips Lighting India through its transition into an independent company and has held senior leadership positions at HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation India.
