Silos and Safehouses in Borderlands 4 are useful locations not only because they have vending machines and other services, but also because they serve as fast travel teleport points.
Traveling between quests may seem quick when you jump on your vehicle, but as you progress in the game, navigating Kairos becomes a nightmare if you don’t have access to all the teleport points available in the game.
In this Borderlands 4 guide, we list all the Silo and Safehouse locations in the game. We also provide images explaining how you can unlock each specific location as well.
All fast travel spots in Borderlands 4
There are two primary types of fast travel spots in Borderlands 4. Silos have vending machines, while Safe Houses offer other systems like respec machines, but they effectively serve the same purpose.
Below, we’ve listed out where to find all Silo locations and all Safe House locations. Note that you’ll also unlock a few other fast travel locations while playing the story, but because you’ll encounter these fast travel locations naturally in the main quest and don’t have to do anything special to unlock them, we haven’t listed them in this guide.
All Silo locations in Borderlands 4
Spread out on the map, you will find points of interest called Silos. They work as teleport points as well as places where you find vending machines to sell items and replenish ammo if needed. Whenever you unlock a Silo, you earn 40 SDU points and get access to a launcher that can help you reach nearby places a bit faster.
Unlocking a Silo is worth the trouble because it pinpoints the areas where you can find Vault Key Fragments. You need three of these to open a Vault, which are basically dungeons, and face some challenging enemies.
While unlocking them is a simple process — just enter the main building and use the command console — there are usually enemies in the areas around Silos, so be prepared to fight.
Below, there’s a list of all the Silos in the game, the region they are located in, and any useful information on how to unlock them.
The Kit Hole (The Howl)
There isn’t much involved in unlocking this Silo. Clear the area of enemies and claim the Command Console.
The Stockroom (Coastal Bonescape)
The best path to reach this Silo is to head southeast. You will have to face some groups of enemies while you climb the stairs that will take you to the command console. After they are gone, you just need to walk inside the main building to capture this silo.
Deep Seven (Dissected Plateau)
The entrance of this Silo can only be accessed by using a path surrounding the main building from the west. Use your grappling hook to go upwards. There are many enemies in this area, so be careful. By heading forward, you will find the Command Console.
The Reliquary (Cuspid Climb)
This is a simple Silo to unlock, but it’s also protected by groups of rippers. Check your guns and ammo and head to the Cuspid Climb area to find and unlock The Reliquary Silo.
Covered Charge (Cuspid Climb)
The path to reach the Covered Charge Silo actually starts southeast from where the Silo icon is on the map. Use your grappling hook to reach the highest platform.
Next, glide toward the northwest platform, and when you get close, use the grappling hook to pull yourself upward. Now, you’ll just need to move forward to find the Command Console.
Deathright (The Low Leys)
To enter the Deathright Silo, you need to use some platforms to reach its entrance. First, go to the north (to the star on the map) and climb the wall. Head south and float to the next wall. Hover to the next platform and climb another wall to reach the higher level.
There are a few enemies in the area, so kill them and head into the control room to activate the Command Console.
Rustical Hurl (Grindstone of the Worthy)
The entrance to this Silo is on the lowest level, west of the Silo icon on the map, next to a body of water. Turn right and use the hole in the wall to access the building. There are some enemies after the first gate, so be aware. Kill them and keep going upward using your grappling hook to enter the room where the Command Console is located.
Judgement’s Lapse (Ruined Sumplands)
Judgement’s Lapse Silo is located on the top of a mount, which you can access by using the surrounding structures. Fly your way to where the Command Console is, but be careful of flying rippers in the area.
Site Unseen (Tonnage Peel)
There are no secrets involved in finding this Silo. It’s located, however, next to a large ripper camp, so you will have a considerable number of enemies to defeat before you can reach the Command Console.
All Safehouse locations in Borderlands 4
In terms of function, a Safehouse offers basically the same options as a Silo does. You can teleport to it, and all of them will have vending machines. However, a few Safehouses will also have a transfer machine, mission board, lost loot machine, and respec machine.
When it comes to unlocking a Safehouse, the process is a little bit more complicated than it is with Silos. Every Safehouse has a Datapad, an item you need to find and activate. The next step is always to look for the Command Console and use it to claim the location. At the same time, unlocking a Safehouse also rewards you with 40 SDU.
Below, you will find all the Safehouses, the area they are located, and where you find their respective Datapad.
Abandoned Post (Coastal Bonescape)
The Abandoned Post is the first Safehouse you unlock in the game, and it’s tied to the main quest.
Shut-Eye Keep (The Howl)
Although the Safehouse icon appears on the left side of the building, you need to use an elevator on the right side to enter the area. Once inside, follow the only available path until you reach the command room.
Use your grappling hook to reach the upper area and find the Datapad. You will find the Command Console in the command room you came from.
Someday Rise (Idolator’s Noose)
To reach the location of the Someday Rise Safehouse, you need to climb a wall southeast of the Safehouse icon. Go to where the arrow indicates on the map to find it. Head forward until you find a camping spot.
After fighting the manglers, you can look for the Datapad inside a barrack on the southeast side of the area. Then, activate the Command Console inside the building marked with an orange circle.
Wyclef’s Reprieve (Idolator’s Noose)
Enter the building using the front door and go to the outside area using the other door, heading south. Eventually, you will find an area where the ground is broken.
Jump to the lower level to find the Datapad next to some crystals. Climb the wall on the south side of this area and make your way back to the building, and activate the Command Console inside the building.
Makeshift Chalet (Lopside)
Once you have cleared the area, head to the building on the north side of the area. Inside, turn left toward the northwest side and turn right again, where the ground is broken. Jump to a lower platform to find the Datapad. Use your grappling hook on the right side to go back and activate the Command Console.
Heritage Opus (Cuspid Climb)
Claiming this Safehouse may be a bit challenging depending on your gear and level. Climb a wall in the northeast, then use your grappling hook to reach the higher levels. You find the Datapad on top of the main arch with a large bell. The Command Console is inside the building on the northeast side.
Grey Havenage (Cuspid Climb)
Finding the Datapad of the Grey Havenage Safehouse involves climbing the building on the south side of the area using your grappling hook, jumping to the excavator in front of it, then using it to reach the wall of the next building.
After grabbing the Datapad, while you’re still at the top of the building, jump from it to the top of the main building in the north. You can only get inside of it to activate the Command Console through a door on the second floor.
The Nightcap (Windspear)
This Safehouse is inside a cave in the Windpsear area. To reach the Datapad, you need to jump upwards onto a platform and reach a portion of the wall you can climb. Get to the highest point of the wall, then jump towards the opposite direction to reach a new platform where the Datapad is located. The large door inside the cave will open after this. Use it to find the Command Console.
Snowy Wells (Stoneblood Forest)
The Datapad of this Safehouse is at the top of a peak, and to reach it, you need to make your way using the surrounding structures. Go Northwest to the building where the Safehouse icon is and, at the top of it, use your grappling hook to climb the water tower.
Use the grappling hook again to get to the next platform, and jump from it to a lower platform. Now, you just need to glide to the next platform to find the Datapad. To unlock the Snowy Wells Safehouse, go back to the main building.
The Lockaway (Carcadia District)
You will unlock this Safehouse during the main story quest, “The Falling Wall.”
The Lowrise (Tonnage Peel)
To climb to where the Datapad is located, you need to use your grappling hook on the broken pipes to go upwards. You can find the location by approaching the area heading northeast. There will be some enemies waiting for you at the top of this area.
You will find the Datapad on a platform on the north side. Grab it and go southwest to find the Command Console.
The Food Court (Terminus District)
Unlocking this Safehouse is a simple process compared to the previous ones. You will find the Datapad on top of a pile of garbage on the northeast side of the area. Once you have it, activate the Command Console that is in the northwest.
Sumpview Falls (Fades District)
The Safehouse in the Fades District can be unlocked once you grab the Datapad hidden inside a box located on the southeast side of the Safehouse area. The Command Console is right in the middle of the area, which you can quickly reach from the platform where you got the Datapad.
Wildhorn’s Beard (Ruined Sumplands)
Wildhorn’s Bead Safehouse is located on a small island in the Ruined Sumplands area. To find its Datapad, climb the mount and follow the path with some pieces of wood. The Datapad is inside a small boat.
With the datapad, go back to the main road and head North. You will find some buildings. Inside the main one, the command console will be waiting for you to activate it and claim this Safehouse.
