In an interview with ‘Be You With Shraddha S,’ the actor admitted that his character became iconic due to how the other characters responded to him.
Rajesh Kumar admitted that Roshesh, his iconic character, turned out the way he did due to how the other actors reacted to him. He admitted that everyone still treats him as Roshesh. “Rosesh worked because of the reactions. It wasn’t just the way he spoke or his attitude. The magic happened because of how Ratna Pathak Shah or Satish Shah responded to him. Even today, when I’m around the five of them, I instantly become Rosesh because they still treat me like him…” he said.
He also reflected on his equation with his colleagues, especially Satish Shah. He recalled an incident where the veteran actor made him cry.
“I forgot the lines and fumbled. Satish ji became frustrated and said, ‘Call me from my makeup room after he recalls his lines. The way he said it, I became tearful… Then, around 11:30, I told Deven Bhojani, “Give me time to prepare.” Even today, I still tell Satish Ji, “Kaka, you made me cry. He doesn’t agree…” Rajesh recalled fondly.
However, he admitted that despite these challenges, these experiences helped him grow as an artiste. “I learned a lot from all of them…” he said. Rajesh was last seen in the Mohit Suri directorial ‘Saiyaara’. Starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, the movie emerged as a box-office juggernaut, earning over Rs 577 crore at the box-office.
