To ensure a fair evaluation, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) uses a method called normalization to calculate the scores of IBPS PO candidates. Since the exam is conducted across multiple shifts and days, variations in the difficulty level of question papers can occur. Normalization helps balance these differences by adjusting scores to a common scale, allowing candidates to receive a rounded-off and equitable result. This process is applied to both the preliminary and mains examinations.
Recruited candidates start working in different IBPS PO participating banks, including Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, etc, once they have cleared all rounds of the selection process. For the unversed, only 11 public sector banks participate in the IBPS PO recruitment process.
