‘In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda’ quest location in The Outer Worlds 2
You can start “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda” as soon as you land on Paradise Island, the first map after The Outer Worlds 2’s prologue. Starting from Fairfield, walk west until you see a lonely house on a slight slope. Speak with its resident, a woman named Redactor Quesnel, and answer affirmatively when she inquires about your availability for odd jobs, which will lead to “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda.”
Alternatively, you can start “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda” by collecting any copy of a magazine called Science Adventures Quarterly, and then visiting Redactor Quesnel.
Don’t worry if you’ve missed this collectible side quest. Just return to Paradise Island when you’re ready and Redactor Quesnel will be there.
All Science Adventures Quarterly locations in The Outer Worlds 2
To complete the “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda” quest, you must find all 10 volumes of the Science Adventures Quarterly. They’re scattered across Paradise Island, usually near small, remote buildings. Luckily, you don’t need any skills or traits to acquire the magazines.
Below, we’ve detailed where to find all 10 volumes of Science Adventures Quarterly in the “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda” quest in The Outer Worlds 2 and included an image of where to find the volume, whose location has been marked on the map with a star.
Volume 1
It’s in Westport, but the part of town that’s outside the main building. Approach the line of buildings on the northwest side, then enter the small one with the wooden exterior, and you’ll find the magazine on the bed.
Volume 2
Visit the southernmost building on Paradise Island. The Science Adventures Quarterly is on the porch, on the table between the rocking chairs.
Volume 3
Go to the small house just north of the Ministry of Accuracy. You don’t need to break in; the magazine is on the small round table outside, next to the front door.
Volume 4
Volume 4 can be found on the northern part of Paradise Island, southeast of the Vox Relay Station. See the small building on the beach? The magazine is outside, on the table next to the rocking chair.
Volume 5
Go to the small settlement directly north of Redactor Quesnel’s house. On the desk inside one of the two tiny houses (the one closest to the veggie garden’s entrance), you’ll find Science Adventures Quarterly Volume 5 of 10.
Volume 6
Go to the building southeast of Fairfield and north of the landing pad. The magazine is inside, on the bed behind the janitor mech.
Volume 7
Find the small settlement in the northern part of Paradise Island. Beware of the enemies! See the two buildings next to the large wheat field? The magazine is inside the smaller of the two, on the desk.
Volume 8
On the highest floor of the Crabbing Tower. There’s a ladder leading to the top floor on the west side of the building.
Volume 9
Take the large elevator just south of Fairfield to enter Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove. You must either repair the lift (requires Engineering level 3) or jump from ledge to ledge starting on the left side of the lift mechanism. Follow the path to the south until you find a small building. The front door is barred, but you can enter through another door on the right side. Be careful: There are raptidons inside. Once inside, you’ll find the magazine on the bed.
Volume 10
In the northwest part of Paradise Island, visit the building in the bay. The Science Adventures Quarterly magazine is on a small table outside the house.
‘In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda’ rewards in The Outer Worlds 2
It’s perfectly fine to collect all Science Adventures Quarterly issues before returning to Redactor Quesnel for your reward, but beware that the quest objective will instruct you to return after finding one, five, and 10 volumes respectively. For each stage of the “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda” quest you’ve completed, you can claim a reward:
- One volume: She’ll give you bit cartridges x500.
- Five volumes in total: She’ll reward you with the Pitchball Card: Josephus Fielder and an additional stack of bit cartridges x500. The Pitchball Card automatically upgrades your damage by +1%.
- 10 volumes: You’ll receive the Townie Clothing body armor, which offers +20% evasion chance and +50% combat sprint speed.
If you already collected the complete set before visiting Redactor Quesnel, you’ll still receive every reward, and it’ll save you some time.
