Rise of the supermoon on the night of Nov. 4-5
The first full week of the new month will feature bright moonlight with the rise of the supermoon on Nov. 4-5. Stargazers may also see shooting stars.
November’s full moon on Wednesday, Nov. 5, will be in Taurus and will also be a super moon, according to astrology brand Sanctuary and astrologers online.
Many signs will seek comfort in what they know during the full moon, according to Sanctuary. This is a time when the moon will have people seeking stability in their love lives, friendships, and finances.
“The Taurus Full Moon is a chance for us to reconnect with our needs and values,” wrote astrologer Evan Nathaniel Grim in a post on Instagram.
The full moon will “emphasize the need for sustenance, nourishment and stability” at a time that is “out of control,” according to Grim.
Because Mars opposes Uranus, this time could feel defiant, and stress, followed by exhaustion, could come out of the blue. But the moon’s chaos is reminding the world that when things become uncertain, it’s time to return to the bare necessities.
When will November’s full moon reach its peak?
The full moon will be at its peak on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 8:19 a.m. ET, according to USA TODAY’s previous reporting.
When will be the best time to see the November supermoon?
The moon’s peak will occur after the sun rises in the Eastern part of the U.S. on Nov. 5, but backyard astronomers shouldn’t worry.
The moon will still look bright and beautiful the night of Tuesday, Nov. 4, and Wednesday, Nov. 5. The moon will also look full for several days after it peaks.
What is a supermoon?
Supermoons happen when a new moon or a full moon is at its closest to Earth all month, according to NASA. The phenomenon is known as “perigee.”
Because of that, the moon will look 30% brighter and up to 14% larger than it usually does.

The signs will be affected by the Taurus supermoon in the following ways, according to USA TODAY’s Horoscopes:
- Aries (March 21 to April 19)
