Players using exploits to get through locked doors — ones that usually require a specific key — has been a thing in Arc Raiders for a while now. Various items, such as the Barricade Kit or Noisemaker, have been capable of pushing a player through the wall to bypass the door to access valuable loot.
It’s taken a little while, but Embark Studios has finally dealt with the problem in update 1.4.0… and what’s even better is they’ve dealt with it in one of the funniest ways imaginable.
As evidenced by multiple videos posted on the Arc Raiders subreddit, glitching through locked doors is still possible if you know how. However, if you do, you’ll be met with a plethora of incendiary traps, lighting you up and almost certainly killing you. Check out the embedded post below to see what happens:
Bravo, Embark. Imagine how satisfying it’ll be to find a dead raider inside when you unlock the door legitimately, so you can take all their stuff. Credit also for the line in the patch notes that calls this a “very hot fix”; truer words have never been written.
On top of this fix, the “double pump” mechanic some players adopted, which allowed for shooting quicker than intended by swapping between weapons and items, has been fixed, and players can no longer push one another by jumping on each other’s backs. Finally, the Control Tower locked room on the Spaceport map has had its exterior access blocked. All important stuff, but it pales in comparison to the scorching exploit fix.
