In Where Winds Meet, increasing vitality is an important step when improving your character, but one that is not determined by your experience in battles. Instead, you must listen carefully and observe your surroundings to find the oddities you need to raise this attribute.

To fight, in addition to your weapons, you also have access to offensive Mystic Skills, which are special abilities you can utilize. Using these abilities requires vitality, so the more you have of this attribute, the stronger your combos will be. There are situations outside battles where Mystic Skills help you solve puzzles, so these are strong abilities that you should prioritize. To make your training easy, below we explain how you can increase vitality in Where Winds Meet.

How to increase vitality in Where Winds Meet

The process to increase vitality in Where Winds Meet is not complex, but you’ll need to explore the game’s vast map. The only way to raise your character’s vitality is by unlocking attribute boost nodes in the Melodies of Peace skill tree using oddities. You can access this tree and see all the available nodes by speaking to Oddity Collection NPCs.

Described as “attuned to nature’s murmur and the Way’s hidden law,” oddities are animals and plants that you can collect while exploring. From little crickets called Dagger Generals to eerie flowers named Enchanting Lotus, they are spread all over each region. When searching for oddities, check piled stones to find the crickets or pay attention to when the sound icon pops on the screen, which might indicate the presence of an Ironwing Mantis nearby.

Once you have a good number of them, you must visit one of the Oddity Collection NPCs, choose to “submit oddities,” and then give them the required number of oddities to unlock a node. Like with other skill trees, you can only activate a node that is connected to another that has been previously unlocked. For example, when starting the game, “The Music of Qinghe 1” is the first node that increases your vitality. To activate it, you must first unlock “The Music of Kaiping 2” and “The Music of Kaiping 3” nodes.

There are two Oddity Collection NPCs available in the game as of the time of writing, according to the in-game list displayed in the Oddity’s system details tab. You can spot them on the map — after clearing the fog covering by talking to the Wayfarers — by searching for a fairy-like icon. The oddities available in each region are different, and they must be delivered to the Oddity Collection NPC corresponding to the region they have been collecting from.
