‘Baaghi 4’ has begun its advance booking on a slow note. However, it’s targeting a bigger goal. As of 11 am on Wednesday, September 3, the Tiger Shroff-starrer had grossed around Rs 1.19 crore, and Rs 2.73 crore gross including block seats, for its first day.

The film marks the fourth instalment of the popular action franchise, which is aiming to enter the Rs 500 crore club. As reported by the trade website Sacnilk, the franchise has so far grossed around Rs 428 crore, and ‘Baaghi 4’ is expected to add approximately Rs 70 crore to push the total beyond Rs 500 crore.

Interestingly, ‘Baaghi 4’ is the first A-rated film in the franchise. Despite receiving its share of criticism over the years, the series has managed to maintain steady momentum at the box office.

While Rs 70 crore gross may not appear to be a massive target for ‘Baaghi 4’, achieving it still be a challenge. The advance booking trends are not very strong, but positive word-of-mouth could help the film comfortably cross the Rs 70 crore mark at the domestic box office.

For Tiger Shroff, this film is also a litmus test of his box office pull. At 35, he remains one of India’s most celebrated action stars, and ‘Baaghi 4’ looks set to showcase his skills on a larger scale.

The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Sandhu and Sonam Bajwa in important roles. It is slated for release on September 5.
