Nagpur: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis credited the Union government’s ‘Make in India‘ initiative for the country’s growing military dominance, stating that indigenous weapons showcased India’s capabilities during Operation Sindoor.“India dominated the war against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making the country self-reliant in defence production. His policies have enabled the domestic defence industry to scale up both in quality and quantity,” Fadnavis told reporters in Nagpur on Sunday.“In 2014, PM Modi gave the call for ‘Make in India’. We are now witnessing its positive impact on our economy and our capabilities in the defence sector,” he added. As reported recently by TOI, private Indian entities are receiving multiple defence orders alongside government-owned armament factories.Fadnavis noted that although the benefits of the policy are now evident, it faced criticism in its early days. “In 2014, some people dismissed the policy as a ‘jumla’ and had a negative outlook. But today, India has progressed across all sectors due to the Prime Minister’s visionary approach,” he said.Addressing Turkiye’s support for Pakistan and India’s response, Fadnavis remarked that the citizens have taken a stand on their own. “All Indians have unofficially called for a boycott of Turkish products in reply to that country’s actions. Citizens are condemning their stance,” he said. When asked about his views on the Congress party’s proposed rally, in the backdrop of the BJP’s Tiranga rally, Fadnavis said, “If they are organising a rally, that’s fine. But they must refrain from criticising our armed forces. No one should question the integrity of our armed personnel. We must all support and appreciate the efforts they have made during the recent conflict.”Fadnavis was speaking on the sidelines of a Tiranga rally held in rural Nagpur. “Pakistan’s lies have been exposed. The Indian armed forces have given a befitting reply and brought Pakistan to its knees,” he concluded.
