Cyber criminals breached the Telangana High Court’s official website, with the incident coming to light after staff noticed irregular activity on Tuesday morning.
High Court Registrar (IT) T. Venkateswara Rao promptly alerted the Director-General of Police, reporting that the court’s website had been interfered with. In his complaint, he explained that the High Court hosts its official site, tshc.gov.in, through the National Informatics Centre.
The platform provides judicial information such as cause lists and case statuses, along with administrative content, including notifications and notices, most of which are published as PDF documents.
Mr. Rao stated that on November 11, 2025, staff found that several PDF files uploaded to the site had been tampered with. The documents were disabled from display and, upon being clicked, redirected users to a gaming site called BDG SLOT. He noted that this constitutes hacking and a cyber crime that harms the reputation of the High Court.
Mr. Rao requested the DGP to direct the concerned officers to register a case and conduct a thorough investigation. Acting on the complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police registered a case on Friday under Section 66 read with 43, 66(C) and 66(D) of the IT Act, Section 337 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Section 3(1)(i) of the Telangana Gaming Act. An investigation is under way.
