Dani Olmo shone once again. With several absences in midfield and the need to pick up points and rediscover good form, the midfielder stepped up to lead the team with two goals that settled the match against Alavés. Showing he is becoming ever more indispensable, Olmo delivered his best version and made it clear to Hansi Flick that he once again has at his disposal a player capable of making the difference when the team needs him most.

Game clinching brace

Olmo started for the third league match in a row and produced the completest of performances. Both of his shots on target ended up in the back of the net, giving him three goals this season, along with the one he scored against Getafe on 21 September. This is not his first brace for Barça: last season he also scored twice against Espanyol.

Beyond the goals, Olmo created more chances than any other player (five, ahead of Raphinha) and completed more passes than any other attacking player (43), showing that his contribution goes far beyond finishing.

Positive momentum

His season has been one of steady progression. Although he has not always started, he has accumulated minutes and made key contributions, with goals and assists (against Valencia and Getafe) at important moments. In fact, he has featured in 15 of the 19 matches played, starting in eight of them.

His performance against Alavés confirms that he is enjoying a strong run of form, able to influence the team’s performance and results at decisive moments. specially when the team needs him most.
