
Data Entry Operator, Lower Division Clerk, Postal Assistant & Other Posts You Can Apply Through SSC CHSL
Registration for SSC CHSL will be accepted only through the online mode. Candidates will have to go to ssc.gov.in and register themselves. The online forms are now available and deadline to apply is August 1. The application fee is Rs. 100 for General category applicants, while SC, ST, women, and PwD candidates willnot be charged with any amount.
SSC CHSL 2025 Important Dates
- Application Begins on June 23, 2025
- Deadline to apply is August 1, 2025
- Tier 1 exam is expected to be conducted between September and October 2025
The exact number of vacancies for SSC CHSL 2025 has not been declared yet. Around 4000 to 5000 posts are expected to be filled. These include roles in various central departments:
- Postal Assistant (PA) / Sorting Assistant (SA)
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
- Data Entry Operator (DEO)
In 2024, there were 3712 jobs and over 4500 in 2023. The final number will be in the official notice.
SSC CHSL 2025: Who Can Apply?
- Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board. For some DEO jobs, Maths might be compulsory.
- Age Limit: Between 18 and 27 years as of 1 August 2025. Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwD.
- Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen. In some cases, citizens from Nepal, Bhutan, or others may also apply.
SSC CHSL Selection Process
The SSC CHSL 2025 selection has two stages and final selection is based on marks scored in Tier-1.
- Tier-1 (Online Test): This is an objective test with questions from Reasoning, English, Maths, and General Knowledge. The exam is of 100 marks and will be for 60 minutes.
- Tier-2 (Typing/Skill Test): Only those who clear Tier-1 can appear in this. It includes a Typing Test (for LDC/JSA) or Data Entry Skill Test (for DEO). This is only qualifying in nature.
SSC CHSL 2025: Steps to apply online
- One should go to the official website ssc.gov.in
- On homepage, click on ‘CHSL’ in the ‘Apply’ section
- Candidates should get themselves registered or log in if already registered
- Fill in your personal and academic details
- Upload your photo, signature, and other documents
- Pay the application fee online (by card, UPI) or offline (SBI challan)
- Review the form and submit it
- Save and print a copy for future references
