The South Western Railway (SWR) highlighted that this new train will connect Bengaluru directly to Rishikesh.

In a big move to meet rising passenger demand, the Railway Board has approved a special train service between Bengaluru (Yeshwantpur) and Rishikesh.
This marks the first-ever direct rail link between Karnataka and Uttarakhand, according to the South Western Railway (SWR).
Departure and Arrival Schedule
Train No. 06597 – Yeshwantpur to Rishikesh Express Special
- Departs from Yeshwantpur at 7:00 AM on 19 June, 26 June, and 3 July
- Arrives in Rishikesh at 10:20 AM on the following Saturday
Train No. 06598 – Rishikesh to Yeshwantpur Express Special
- Departs from Rishikesh at 5:55 PM on 21 June, 28 June, and 5 July
- Arrives at Yeshwantpur at 7:45 PM on the following Monday
Stops Along the Route
According to Deccan Herald, the special express will halt at several major stations in both directions, including:
Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Dhone, Kurnool City, Kacheguda, Kazipet, Balharshah, Nagpur, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt, Mathura, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Tapri, Roorkee, and Haridwar Junction.
The SWR highlighted that this service will greatly benefit pilgrims, spiritual travellers, and tourists heading to Rishikesh, a globally recognised destination known as the Yoga Capital of the World.
