Grab this key item to progress in “Recruitment Drive”
As your journey as a Vault Hunter begins in Borderlands 4, you’re guided by the infamous Claptrap during the “Recruitment Drive” quest, where you need to get clearance for the elevator — but it’s unclear how you do it.
Throughout this quest, you learn important mechanics and concepts that are key to your journey in Kairos. However, if you can’t access the elevator, you won’t be able to chase more guns and face the baddies in Kairos.
Below, we explain how to get clearance for the elevator in Borderlands 4‘s “Recruitment Drive” quest and what exactly you need to find.
How to get clearance for the elevator in Borderlands 4
After you have completed most of the secondary objectives in the “Recruitment Drive” quest, you will need to invade the broadcast tower and turn it into your first Safehouse in the game. As you get to the top, you realize you need to get clearance for the elevator. However, the game doesn’t tell you exactly what you need to get it.
To get clearance for the elevator in Borderlands 4, you need to remove the bolt on the back of the neck of a dead ripper. The body is right in front of the elevator, but you need to get close for the “Take” command option to appear on the screen.
With the item in your inventory, you can call the elevator, and have a long talk with Claptrap… again.
