There are two situations in Where Winds Meet where you will want to self-heal. One is when you need to replenish your character’s HP, and the other is when your character is under the effect of an illness. Although both situations are far from ideal, solving the first is faster (and cheaper depending on the illness you have).
While there are many interactions and systems to be discovered in the game, we explain how to self-heal in Where Winds Meet, whether your character is low HP or has a sprained ankle.
How to self-heal and recover HP in Where Winds Meet
It might surprise you, but you will get hurt even as a skillful fighter, and eventually you will need to recover your health. From the start of the game, you have access to the Medicine Chest, which allows you to use different types of healing pots. This is the best option to heal your character during battle and the quickest one, too.
You must be mindful when using your pots, though. There’s a limit on usage before you need to rest in a Boundary Stone to refill your pots. To rest, you need to teleport to or pass near one of the stone landmarks you have unlocked. However, to ensure you have healing potions to use, you need to craft them.
There are two available methods to craft medicine in Where Winds Meet. You can either visit a Crafting Zone (indicated by an anvil icon on the map) and use the medicine crafting station, a golden urn found in the area. For the second method, you can open your inventory and use the “Craft” command by pressing X on Windows PC or Square/X buttons on controllers. In both cases, the crafting menu will open and, if you have the materials required, you can craft as many potions as you want.
While still talking about recovering HP, another method is to eat food. You can obtain or cook meals to keep in your bag and consume while outside of combat. There is some food that, instead of recovering health, will give you stats bonuses, such as increased physical attack or maximum HP. To cook meals, like brewing potions, you can either use the pot found in Crafting Zones or use the Craft command from the inventory.
How to self-heal from illnesses and diseases in Where Winds Meet
As you explore the world of Where Winds Meet, you may get sick from a poisonous plant or sprain your ankle by falling from higher places. Your character’s physique is split into “Mind,” “Organs,” “Meridians,” and “Muscles.” Different types of diseases affect your character’s constitution, and if you don’t heal them, the situation might get worse. For example, by falling from high places, you might get a sprain, which can evolve into a bone fracture! When you have an illness, a red icon will appear in the top left corner of the screen indicating your character’s condition. It says how many diseases you have and shows the status “pending treatment.”
If what you need is to cure an illness, then we know of only one solution: using the Evercare Clinic. Talk to Yao Yaoyao and tell her you’re not feeling great. The Evercare Clinic is located in the northwest portion of the Moonvail Mountain area, in the region of Qinghe. When you talk to Yao Yaoyao, a short scene will play and the clinic menu will open showing the diseases you have and the cost of the treatment.
