Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been generating significant hype since the announcement. Its ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Yash, Sai Pallavi and others, have elevated the excitement among cinephiles. While the makers haven’t made an official announcement about the cast, several popular actors are associated with the magnum opus. Reportedly, by now, the makers have zeroed in on the cast for both the instalments of the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. However, many popular actors have even turned down the offers of different roles. One such actor is Jaideep Ahlawat, who turned down a key role in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
Why Jaideep Ahlawat Turned Down Vibhishana’s Role?
For the last couple of weeks, reports have been abuzz that Jaideep Ahlawat was approached to play Vibhishana in Nitesh Tiwari’s most ambitious magnum opus. However, he turned down the offer.
Well, recently, Jaideep himself confirmed the same and revealed that he couldn’t take on the role due to scheduling conflicts.
As shared by the King actor, the role required him to shoot alongside Yash, who is playing Demon King Ravana, making the time crucial. As the dates didn’t match, he had to let go of the project.
During his recent interview with Lallantop, Jaideep said, “Offer hua tha. Par timing match nahi ho rahi thi. Ek particular time chahiye tha jisme kar sakte the kyon ki Vibhishan ke saath Ravana ka hona zaruri hai. I’m sure Ravana ki dates mujh se zyada important hogi. I think Yash kar rahe hain, KGF waale (I was offered the role, but the timing didn’t match. It required a specific schedule because Vibhishan’s scenes needed to be with Ravana. I’m sure Ravana’s dates were more important than mine. I think Yash from KGF is playing Ravana).”
