Great Britain’s Mingge Xu will aim to pull off another major shock when she meets Magda Linette.
The 17-year-old Brit stunned world number 96 Katie Volynets 6-3 6-3 to set up a clash with the sixth seed, who defeated Alexandra Eala 6-4 6-3.
Xu will be the clear underdog given her ranking of 300 in the world, but the 33-year-old Linette isn’t known for her prowess on grass and it may give the teenager some hope with the backing of the home crowd.
The obvious bet is on world number 31 Linette’s experience paying off here, but given the pay-out won’t be so great, it may be worth looking at the youngster snaring a set.
