Medieval sandbox sim Noble Legacy will add co-op after “overwhelming” requests

If you’re a Manor Lords enthusiast, fellow medieval city builder and simulation game Noble Legacy is well worth keeping an eye on. It combines those period-based town construction and management elements with a more personal touch. The modular building tools feel closer to survival games such as The Forest or Valheim, and it keeps things cozier than the likes of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Now, in a hefty new roadmap, developer Studio 369 reveals that it’s working on some of the community’s most highly requested features, including multiplayer co-op, romance, and marriage.

“We’re now three weeks into early access, and we are truly humbled by the incredible support from our community and friends,” the Noble Legacy developer writes in its latest update. I was largely impressed by my time with the game, despite a few rough edges in the current version. Given time, it could rival the likes of Medieval Dynasty and Manor Lords as one of the best medieval games to focus on living out a more ‘normal’ life than action-led offerings such as KCD 2 or Crusader Kings 3.

To celebrate the progress so far, Studio 369 has a free addition for everyone: new villager Heather. “Known for her beauty as much as her silver tongue, she commands the room with ease,” the developer says. Her skills make her fairly versatile, but she’s most at home in charge of the local tavern, acting as a cornerstone of the community. From there, it’s time to talk about the Noble Legacy roadmap.

The studio says its primary focus for the sandbox game is still the flagship Kingdom mode, designed to offer “endless replayability.” You’ll have to deal with trade between villages, balance morale, handle shifting loyalties in the wake of the Norman Conquest, and make “difficult choices around raids, taxation, and rival barons.” The priority now is therefore “to ensure the systems and mechanics that drive the long-term gameplay loop are fully realized.”

As such, the simulation game’s original plans have been reordered and expanded upon. First on the newly designed card is the Wildlands Update this fall, which is all about those core mechanics. It introduces all manner of animals and fish, along with minigames to handle them. Animal husbandry lets you build pastures and train shepherds, the Hunting Lodge manages food supplies, and the Construction Workshop allows you to assign your villagers to specific construction projects. You’ll also be able to erect your very own Lord’s Manor.

In winter, the Life and Death Update introduces illness and disease, along with ways to counteract them. The Apothecary handles medicines and healing, while the Bath House helps ensure cleanliness and stave off sickness. The patch will also bring an overhaul to combat, along with the introduction of mounts, but its most notable new addition is co-op. “Due to the overwhelming feedback and requests, we have decided to align on multiplayer co-op, which is slated for the Life and Death Update,” Studio 369 says.

Noble Legacy roadmap for three upcoming updates: 'Wildlands,' 'Life and Death,' and 'Hearth and Heart.'

If Noble Legacy is going to stand among the best co-op games of its type, however, there are some more features it’ll need. Fortunately, the Hearth and Heart Update, currently planned for spring 2026, is set to expand relationships and add romance and marriage, along with the ability to have children. It’ll also introduce gift giving and the ability to build Theaters and Brothels to keep your townsfolk happy.

“Thank you all again for your continued support,” Studio 369 concludes. “We are excited to share further details as we get closer to releasing them. See you in Greenwood!”
