A new Diablo 4 hotfix is here, as Blizzard dramatically adjusts the reputation gains on offer in its latest update. Diablo 4 Season 8 sees the return of Belial, the Lord of Lies, with his vicious apparitions popping up all across Sanctuary. On the player’s side, it grants us access to some of the powers employed by the various big, bad bosses to use as part of our builds. Also core to the season is the regular reputation rewards track, and now a fresh patch has made it vastly quicker to get to that essential Resplendent Spark.

Blizzard has decided that Belial’s new apparition incursion bosses that could invade as part of the RPG’s seasonal world event were proving a bit too hardy, especially in the early game. As such, the new Diablo 4 patch notes drop their health, with more notable reductions at lower levels. Perhaps more importantly, if you’ve felt that grinding your way through the Unveiler’s Oath ranks was far too slow to earn the valuable Resplendent Cache that gets you one step closer to a guaranteed Mythic Unique, you’ll now find it way faster.

With the new update that’s now live, you’ll earn far more reputation from most of the big boss-fighting activities. Bringing down Diablo 4 world bosses will net you eight times as much progress as previously, while summoning and defeating a Blood Maiden during the Helltide will earn four times the old amount. The payout of standard bosses has been tripled, lair bosses get a slight bump, and there’s even a 50% boost to rewards from the ambush version of Belial. You can see the full list of changes below.

  • World Boss: Increased from 250 to 2,000 reputation.
  • Lair Boss: Increased from 750 to 1,000 reputation.
  • Belial, Lord of Lies (Lair Boss Ambush): Increased from 1,000 to 1,500 reputation.
  • Blood Maiden: Increased from 250 to 1,000 reputation.
  • Regular Boss: Increased from 250 to 750 reputation.

That should make earning the Mythic Unique you need to round out your best Diablo 4 builds a lot less work, which is handy as the pinnacle lair bosses (especially top-end newcomer Belial) have a lot more fight in them than we saw in Season 7. This follows adjustments just prior to launch that saw Smoldering Ashes moved to earlier steps in the season journey to make them quicker to access as you level.
