For five seasons, an Atlanta home featured prominently in the Netflix hit series “Stranger Things.” Now, the paragon of 80’s-style suburbia has sold to two dedicated fans, just in time for the show’s final season.
Portrayed as home to the fictional Wheeler family in Hawkins, Indiana, 2530 Piney Wood Lane actually sits on two acres at the end of a cul-de-sac in Atlanta’s East Point suburb.
Inside, the house includes original retro features like wood paneling, built-in bookshelves, a brick fireplace and an eat-in kitchen perfect for enjoying Eggos. Despite this nostalgic interior flair, only the home’s exterior was featured on the show.
“[T]his quintessential 80s time capsule offers plenty of room to roam, and an incredible restoration opportunity to turn some upside down elements, right side up again,” Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International agents Hall Carey and Sandra Carey said in the listing.
The home found new owners after just two weeks on the market: According to reporting from Homes.com, two super fans purchased the property from Netflix for $365,000 — $15,000 over asking price.
Though there’s no telling what twists the final season of “Stranger Things” may hold, it seems the new homeowners will be ‘“runnin’ up that hill” to their new home for years to come.
