No team has a legacy in League of Legends esports quite like T1. The South Korean juggernaut, spearheaded by the greatest to ever do it, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, secured a fifth World Championship title last year, and as is tradition, the triumphant players will be able to pick a character to be included in a commemorative skin line. After a pretty unprecedented wait, the reveal of T1’s LoL Worlds 2024 skins has finally arrived, almost ten months on from the team actually lifting the trophy. With a black, red, and silver colorway spanning champions such as Varus and Vi, and some references to moments from the tournament, for many that wait will be well worth it.

Revealed with new splash art, a PBE preview, and a flashy trailer recounting T1’s remarkable victory last year at the Worlds 2024 final in London, T1’s LoL Worlds skins are a sight to behold. As well as the five main champions for each victorious player, Faker gets a second separate champion in this skinline for being tournament MVP – his Yone and Prestige Sylas are the eighth and ninth LoL Worlds skins he now has in the free PC game. Wild stuff.

But what other champions did the T1 players pick for the main lineup? Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je, who has since left T1 after the team’s Worlds victory, opted for Gnar, jungler Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun went for Vi, the long-serving Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyeong chose Varus, and finally Ryu ‘Keria’ Min-seok blessed Pyke fans with his pick.

The running theme of the skinline sees the six champions decked out in black and silver armor, set with red crystals. In-game, the skins glow with a dim crimson aura and you’ll see plenty more flashes of red with all the ability effects.

There are also some call backs to memorable moments from T1’s Worlds 2024 campaign, such as Gnar’s recall seeing him imitate Zeus knocking himself on the head with the trophy. Gumayusi’s Varus recall also gives him a croissant, which is a reference to the giant pastry he was given in a post-match interview during the knockout stage, which was hosted in Paris.

All six LoL Worlds 2024 skins are now available on the PBE, but will be introduced into the main game with Patch 25.18, which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18.

Where do these rank among the best LoL skins? I’d say the base designs aren’t the most exciting I’ve ever seen, but the call backs to moments from the tournament are always great to see.
