Gamers in Europe were recently able to buy an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 gaming GPU for way less than the MSRP for a brief moment. However, the average price for this graphics card remains at sky-high levels as general availability issues persist.
If you hope to own an RTX 5090 without paying over the MSRP, you’ll need to jump on a good deal incredibly quickly if you see one. Otherwise, this powerful Nvidia GPU, which is the king of our best graphics card buying guide when it comes to gaming performance, is still largely being sold at well above the MSRP, particularly in the US.
According to ComputerBase and its RTX 5000-series price bot, the RTX 5090 graphics card was briefly available and sold in Germany for just €1,999 on June 21, 2025, which is well below the local €2,229 MSRP. The best price of the RTX 5090 has been steadily coming down over the past few months, according to this price tracker, although the odd spike has occurred. However, the median price of the RTX 5090 still sits at €2,799, approximately $3,209, which is well above the MSRP.
The availability of cheaper RTX 5090 graphics cards is being attributed to B-stock, which refers to cards that have been bought by someone but returned to the retailer and then resold. It can’t be predicted when these cards will be available, which is where stock alerts can become crucial.
We’re yet to see any major trend towards sub-MSRP RTX 5090s in the US, with many retailers such as Amazon and Newegg still listing brand new stock in the region of $3,000. Again, open-box stock can be purchased to reduce this cost. However, RTX 5090 UK prices have also dropped below MSRP on occasion recently, with cards generally available for under £2,000 now, so let’s hope the rest of the world follows suit in the future.
