Audio storytelling platform Woh Kahani has surpassed 10,000 episodes and now hosts over 3,000 stories in multiple Indian languages. Developed by Yishafun Solution Private Limited, the platform allows users to listen to stories while performing daily tasks such as commuting, cooking or walking.
Woh Kahani launched with the aim of making storytelling accessible without the need for screens or books. The platform targets working professionals, language learners and children. Users can create playlists and access content across devices.
The service offers content in categories including romance, mystery and motivational narratives. It features stories in languages such as Punjabi, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil and Bhojpuri, and includes folk tales and regional dramas. The company says this effort supports both cultural preservation and local talent, including writers and voice artists from smaller towns.
Initially starting with a limited set of stories, Woh Kahani has expanded its offerings through improved user interface, smart search tools and social sharing features. The platform continues to add content in more Indian languages.
The company faced early challenges including building a multilingual audio library and developing tools for better content discovery. According to the company, its focus on Indian stories and regional language accessibility has helped it compete with international audio platforms.
Woh Kahani reports an average listener engagement of 45 minutes per session. The team is now working toward a goal of 25,000 episodes and exploring international expansion in regions with a high Indian diaspora.
The company also plans to introduce new technology to improve the user experience and experiment with different storytelling formats.
