The Black Ops 7 beta is right around the corner, with two periods of availability coming in early October.

However, if you want to get in on the action as soon as possible, you’ll need to know how. Thankfully, the days of the Call of Duty beta being exclusive to a specific platform are long behind us, so you can play on any one of PC (Steam, Battle.net, and the Xbox app), PlayStation (4 and 5), and Xbox (One and Series X).

Let us detail when the Black Ops 7 beta dates are, how to get into the early access beta, what to expect, and more.

As is the case each year with Call of Duty, the Black Ops 7 beta follows the same format of having two periods of availability. The first is the early access weekend, which requires you to have either pre-ordered the game or subscribe to Game Pass.

The Black Ops 7 beta dates are:

  • Early access: Thursday, Oct. 2 to Sunday, Oct. 5
  • Open beta: Sunday, Oct. 5 to Wednesday, Oct. 8

Rather than having two separate weekends to play, this means the early access window automatically rolls into the open beta.

If you’ve pre-ordered Black Ops 7 digitally, or you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you’ll automatically be granted access to the beta on your respective platform. However, if you’ve received a code through a physical pre-order, you’ll need to redeem it at callofduty.com/betaredeem.

Black Ops 7 beta start times in your time zone

There’s only one time you need to remember for the Black Ops 7 beta: 10 a.m. PDT. This is when the early access window gets underway on Oct. 2, but it’s also the time it transitions to open beta on Oct. 5, and when the beta finishes on Oct. 8. Here’s what that looks like in your time zone:

  • 10 a.m. PDT for the west coast of North America
  • 1 p.m. EDT for the east coast of North America
  • 2 p.m. BRT for Brazil
  • 6 p.m. BST for the U.K.
  • 7 p.m. CEST for western Europe/Paris
  • 2 a.m. JST on Oct. 3 for Japan
  • 3 a.m. AEST on Oct. 3 for the east coast of Australia

What is in the Black Ops 7 beta?

Here’s everything we know so far that will be featured in the Black Ops 7 beta:

  • Five modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Overload (new)
  • Six maps: Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Imprint, The Forge, Toshin
  • Training Course, a tutorial mode that will help you learn the ins and outs of everything new in Black Ops 7
  • Zombies Survival will be in a Call of Duty beta for the first time ever
  • 12 Primary weapons, including three assault rifles, three SMGs, and two sniper rifles
  • Cross-play between all platforms

It’s worth noting that the level cap for the beta hasn’t been revealed yet, so while it’s likely the early access window will limit players to level 20, with an increase to 30 coming in the open beta like last year, we cannot confirm that. As always, progress will not carry over to the full game either, but there will be cosmetic rewards to unlock if you play enough of the beta. At the time of writing, these haven’t been revealed yet either.

You can read more details about everything coming in the beta on the official Call of Duty blog.
