After crossovers with Final Fantasy 7 and Gundam, Respawn Entertainment is taking Apex Legends to a new destination: Night City. On Tuesday, Respawn and CD Projekt Red announced a new Apex Legends x Cyberpunk event, which will bring characters and cosmetics from Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk Edgerunners to the Apex Games.
The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk event is more than just skins that bring characters like David Martinez and Lucy Kushinada to Apex Legends; the battle royale game’s E-District map is receiving a massive Night City-themed makeover and its fast-paced Wildcard mode is adding two Cyberpunk-inspired powers.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a hero shooter crossover event without a long list of fun cosmetics. Eight Legends are getting Cyberpunk-themed skins, including Axle as Lucy from Edgerunners and Ash as Lizzy Wizzy from 2077. The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk collab will also feature a long list of weapon skins, including a Mythic Alternator skin based on the Skippy variant of the Arasaka HJKE-11 Yukimura. If you’ve ever wanted a Clippy-inspired cartoon bullet to entertain you while playing Apex Legends, here you go.
All Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Cosmetics
The eight Legends getting skins as part of the event, and their Cyberpunk equivalents, are as follows:
- Axle as Lucy
- Sparrow as David Martinez
- Rampart as Rebecca
- Crypto as Male V
- Lifeline as Female V
- Gibraltar as Royce
- Loba as Panam
- Ash as Lizzy Wizzy
“We chose pairings with intention, matching both aesthetics and personalities between our Legends and CDPR characters,” says Apex Legends art director Alisa Rastorgueva in a statement. “The Weapon skins followed the same logic, paired visually to each Legend skin and the persona each character would take on.”
In addition to the Skippy-inspired Alternator Mythic weapon skin, Cyberpunk-themed weapon skins are coming for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber.
“This collaboration let us do something we’ve never done before: build a Mythic Weapon entirely around an existing character,” says Rastorgueva. “Bringing Skippy into the Apex universe meant going beyond a striking design. We paired his behavior with voice lines that play off his own animations, which made for one of the most engaging companion experiences we’ve built into a Mythic so far.”
Welcome to Night City E-District
Apex Legends‘ E-District was “already loosely inspired by Cyberpunk’s Night City in many ways,” says Eduardo Agostini, the game’s world director, but it now fully embodies Night City. “From the Arasaka Citadel takeover of
Energy Bank to the bright lights and neon flair of Neon Square, I can’t wait for players to drop into the map and feel the love the team has put into this collaboration,” says Agostini.

Apex Legends x Cyberpunk’s Wildcard Mode
Apex Legends‘ Wildcard mode is focused on fast-paced fights and last-minute comebacks. Released last year as part of the game’s season 26, Wildcard is getting some Cyberpunk flavor as part of Respawn and CDPR’s collab.
Two new Cyberware mods are coming to Wildcard: Sandevistan and Blackwall Breach. Sandevistan is wired for speed, Respawn says, granting quick dashes in any direction: chain two dashes before touching ground to close gaps or ghost out of danger. Blackwall Breach phases you into the Net to reposition, then unleash a disruptive blast that shatters enemies’ shields as you return, according to Respawn.
Jesse Medellin, lead technical designer on Apex Legends, says “Personally, I have always been captivated with David and Lucy’s story and this event was a great opportunity to highlight these wonderful characters and their journey. The
Cyberware that we introduced in Apex Legends are intended to make callbacks to these characters. The Sandevistan captures the power of speed that David learns to wield as he embraces life as an edgerunner, while Blackwall Breach showcases the devastating power a skilled netrunner like Lucy can unleash on nearby enemies.”
Apex Legends is available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. (The original Switch version of the game will no longer be available after Aug. 4.)
