According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 15.6 degrees Celsius today (March 4), 2.2 degrees above the season’s average.
“Humidity was 70 per cent at 8.30 AM,” said IMD.
The Met office forecasted strong surface winds during the day.
The air quality was recorded in the moderate category as the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 12.30 PM stood at 148.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
Snowfall in Kashmir
Meanwhile, a few areas of Kashmir received fresh snowfall today, while rains lashed widespread parts of the valley.
According to the weather department, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Kokernag, parts of Kupwara and Baramulla, and other areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall.
They said during the last 24 hours, widespread rain was recorded in the valley, including in Srinagar.
The wet weather lowered the day temperatures in Kashmir, decreasing the normal maximum temperature by three to nine degrees across the valley.
The meteorological department said the weather will likely improve later in the day, and would stay mainly dry till March 10.
