The Epic Games Store is offering two free PC games this week for Epic users. For a limited time, you can grab an action-packed beat-’em-up and a literary classic for free.
River City Girls 2
River City Girls 2 is a very stylish beat-’em-up. It’s an entry in the long-running River City saga that includes retro classics like 1989’s River City Ransom and the recently released River City Saga: Journey to the West. River City Girls 2 features six playable characters with their own fighting styles, and it can be played solo or with a friend in co-op. Fight your way through side-scrolling, colorful streets using a variety of elemental attacks, guard crushes, and lift-off combos.
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream
The Hugo Award-winning “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream” by Harlan Ellison is one of sci-fi’s most famous short stories, and it received a video game adaptation in 1995. As the title implies, I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream is not for the faint of heart. You control five different characters locked in psychological warfare with the Master Computer AM. Expect a lot of tough choices around ethical dilemmas that will no doubt disturb you. Ellison helped develop the game, and even provided the voice for the torturous computer.
