Epic is offering two games for the price of zero
The Epic Games Store is offering two free PC games this week for Epic users. For a limited time, you can grab a retro turn-based game and a horror adventure for free.
Echo Generation
A group of kids in a small town fight spooky, supernatural monsters while investigating a conspiracy. We’re not describing Stranger Things, but Echo Generation, a turn-based adventure from developer Cococucumber. Along with pet companions, you’ll scour Maple Town for supernatural secrets. Fight enemies along the way, or check out Echo Generation‘s more than 30 minigames to pass the time. It has a Very Positive player rating on Steam, and a sequel came out earlier this year.
Luto
Epic’s other free game is Luto, a psychological horror experience about isolation. (And death, of course.) You’re stuck in a house you can’t leave, one with a labyrinth full of secrets and frights. It’s heavy on atmosphere, but there are also puzzles to engage with as you try to escape. But know what you’re getting into first, as Luto has a disclaimer from developer Broken Bird Games stating the game covers anxiety, depression, and suicide. Luto also has a Very Positive rating on Steam with over 1,100 player reviews.
If Echo Generation or Luto catches your eye, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim them. The games will be free until Thursday, July 23, at 11 a.m. EDT.
