Zomato’s founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, has once again grabbed eyeballs with his unconventional hiring tactics. In a tweet on X on Tuesday, Goyal announced that he is on the lookout for business and product leaders who actively use AI as their “second brain.”
“If you are the one, please write to me at d@zomato.com. PLEASE include the phrase ‘I have a second brain’ in the subject line,” Goyal wrote on X, making it clear that he’s only interested in applicants who think (or let AI think) outside the box.
While many companies are still debating the role of artificial intelligence in leadership, Goyal seems to have already embraced the future.
His latest post on hiring suggests that he wants top executives who seamlessly integrate AI into their decision-making process. However, social media users had a field day reacting to the announcement.
One user quipped, “Not a product leader but I use AI for almost all my stuff including health, sleep, work, suggestions. Does that count?” Another commented, “i have no brain so i use it as my only brain. shooting an email shortly.”
This isn’t the first time Goyal has made headlines for his unique approach to hiring. Last year, he posted an opening for a Chief of Staff role on Twitter, but with an unusual condition—the selected candidate had to donate Rs 20 lakh to a charity. While some called it an innovative way to test commitment, others saw it as an unnecessary financial barrier.
Goyal’s latest hiring tweet continues his trend of shaking up conventional job postings. But it also raises an interesting question—should top leaders now rely on AI as their “second brain” to stay ahead? With AI-driven decision-making becoming the norm, it seems like Goyal is betting on a future where human intuition and artificial intelligence work hand in hand.
