I love a good trek across space, and satirical sci-fi sequel Revenge of the Savage Planet is here to deliver just that. The co-op third-person exploration and crafting game is a snappy, structured, story-driven alternative to the broader spectrum offered by the likes of No Man’s Sky. Discover fantastical worlds, study their plants and wildlife, research upgrades, and unlock new ways to traverse the landscape – if you’re eager to give this plucky newcomer a try, you could be in with a chance of snagging a free Steam copy.
Revenge of the Savage Planet comes from Raccoon Logic, a team built from the ashes of Journey to the Savage Planet developer Typhoon Studios after its closure. Much like its predecessor, it’s a colorful and satirical sci-fi adventure that can be played solo or as a two-player co-op game. Made redundant and left stranded on the far edge of space, you’ll need to take advantage of everything at your disposal to return to Earth and claim revenge on your former employer.

That journey will take you across four distinctive worlds packed with their own flora and fauna. You’ll want to scan, collect, and catalog as much as you can to ramp up your science rating, unlocking new gear and upgrades. These in turn open the door to previously inaccessible areas, creating a rewarding Metroidvania loop of returning to claim goodies that were once tantalizingly out of reach.
In our Revenge of the Savage Planet review, Chris determines that this “short but sweet” space adventure is “well worth a go.” Whether you played the original or just want to start here, there’s no better way than getting your hands on a free copy. Fortunately, you can do just that, as we have five Steam keys to give away.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is drop your details into the entry box below. Note that keys are region-locked to North America, Europe, and Australia. The giveaway ends Monday May 12 at 2am PT / 5am ET / 10am BST / 11am CEST. Be sure to also join our Discord to keep track of this and future giveaways.
