‘Freedom’ no more for Jadon Sancho perhaps, because it’s back to Old Trafford again.
Chelsea has decided not to exercise the £25m obligation to sign Sancho permanently this summer, hence sending the English winger back to Manchester United.
In fact, to make it worse, the Blues are actually set to pay a £5m penalty to get out of the obligation.
Reports from multiple sources, including Sky Sports and The Athletic state that Sancho and Chelsea were unable to agree on personal terms in order to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
The winger scored five times and assisted ten times during a season-long loan at Chelsea, including in last month’s Conference League final win over Real Betis.
Now, whether or not United shall look to retain him remains to be explored, but it can be believed that the English winger shall garner quite a bit of interest from clubs all across Europe.
The preference for all parties is thought to be for Sancho to find a permanent move away from Old Trafford.
However, given Sancho’s huge wages at United, another loan cannot be ruled out.
The Blues, on the other hand, shall be looking to bring in reinforcements in the form of an attacking right-winger, such as the likes of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund or even Alejandro Garnacho from United.
