On the availability of surplus funds with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Mr. Siddaramaiah told the officials to utilise the funds for providing basic facilities in government medical colleges. He directed the department to appoint a KAS officer as an administrative officer at NIMHANS, Bengaluru.

A sum of ₹400 crore has been released for the construction and purchase of equipment in government medical colleges and ₹130 crore has been released for the construction of super-specialty hospitals.
