League of Legends to add five new augments, one of which is a load of bees

ARAM Mayhem is like everyone’s favorite cousin: still family (not great), but way more fun (great, actually). It’s the no-pressure mode in League of Legends that took the all-action ARAM game mode and added a bunch of over-the-top augments to create something that can sometimes be beyond ridiculous. With patch 26.21, things are going to take another step up as LoL adds five new augments to its for-fun game mode.

Things in ARAM Mayhem don’t always follow the same rules as regular League of Legends. There are augments available that would break a regular game on Summoner’s Rift in two – things like Jeweled Gauntlet, Goliath, and Tank Engine. Five new augments are going to be added in the next patch, one of which involves a lot of bees.

Each of the five new augments does something a bit different, with some taking mechanics we know and love and giving them a different look, while others take effects from specific skins and give them a whole new life. The new ARAM Mayhem augments coming with patch 26.21 are:

Get Jinxed

Anyone who has seen the classic Get Jinxed music video will know this immediately – it’s Jinx doing her best Dr. Strangelove impression, riding a huge bomb all the way to its destination. Think Sion’s ultimate, only with more explosions.

Brass Blast

One from the Chime Minister himself, Brass Blast is like a wide-angle Poppy ultimate with added trumpets. Great for zone control, and it also deals damage. Takes a while to charge, though.

BEES!!!

The Beezahar skin has some of the best effects in League of Legends, that is, unless you’re on the receiving end of Malefic Visions and feel utterly hopeless about your approaching demise. The BEES!!! augment periodically launches a hive of bees that explode with ability hits. Not quite as annoying, but sounds pretty deadly.

Totentanz

If you’re a risk-taker, then the sound of Yone’s E mixed with Tryndamere’s ultimate should be music to your ears. Dash forward and become unkillable for five seconds. The only drawback? If you don’t secure a takedown in that time, you die.

Salvation

The most sensible of the lot, Salvation is an augment that activates when you fall below 50% health, knocking back nearby enemies, dealing damage to them, and healing your allies.

League of Legends augments: a large humanoid man blowing into a giant trumpet.

I know that whenever I see Totentanz, I’m going to have to physically pull my mouse away from it – yes, I want to be an unkillable demon king, but I know I’ll end up exploding more often than not. Chucking bees at my enemies, however, is an easy choice, and one I hope I’ll get more often than not. League of Legends patch 26.21 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, so there’s still a bit of time to go yet.
