A load deflection test using a loaded wagon was carried out on Friday in the MRTS Phase II extension between Velachery and St Thomas Mount railway stations in Chennai, according to a release.
The test was conducted by the Construction Department
The tests will continue throughout this month to ensure the safety and operational readiness of the line. The public and media will be informed in advance if a trial run is conducted, the release said.
The Southern Railway’s Chennai Division said contrary to reports in media, no trial run was conducted on this section on Friday.
