Malayalam horror Dies Irae OTT release date: When and where to watch Pranav Mohanlal’s movie

Malayalam horror fans have been waiting for this one, and the suspense is finally over. Pranav Mohanlal’s Diés Iraé, one of the biggest genre releases of the year, is gearing up for its digital debut after a strong theatrical run. The spine-chilling film left audiences buzzing with its scares, lore, and connection to earlier hits in the same universe. Now, JioHotstar has confirmed when viewers can experience Rahul Sadasivan’s eerie world from the comfort of home.

Diés Iraé, written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan and produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, will begin streaming on JioHotstar from December 5, as announced by the platform. The Telugu version’s OTT release, however, remains unconfirmed.

The film was released worldwide in theatres on October 31, 2025, coinciding with Halloween. It received strong reviews from both critics and audiences. Diés Iraé has also emerged as the fourth-highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2025. The movie shares continuity with Bhoothakaalam and Bramayugam, further expanding this growing horror universe.

About the movie

Rohan, an Indo-American architect, is shaken by the suicide of his former classmate Kani. After taking a red hair clip from her room, he’s tormented by supernatural attacks. With help from Madhu, a neighbour from a family of exorcists, he learns the spirit isn’t Kani. Rohan discovers a decaying body, survives an attack, and destroys the anklets to free the spirit. As he prepares to return to the US, new hauntings suggest his ordeal is far from over.
