Mindseye system requirements spark concern with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 demand

The Mindseye system requirements have been revealed ahead of its launch next month, and they’ve got us worried about the potential unoptimized state of the game. Worse still, it’s easy to look at these requirements and be concerned about what GTA 6 will demand when its PC port eventually arrives.

While you won’t need the best graphics card to get great performance out of Mindseye, its system requirements certainly sit on the high side. There are similarities between these specs and those of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle system requirements, but we know ray tracing isn’t going to be forced in Mindseye due to one of the listed GPUs lacking any ray tracing capabilities.

Here are the Mindseye system requirements:

Take our Mindseye system requirements PC benchmark test to answer the question… Can I run Mindseye?

The Mindseye minimum requirements are quite high for a modern 3D game, especially one that won’t force ray tracing, as the specified minimum AMD GPU doesn’t support it.

You’ll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT paired with an Intel Core i5 12400F or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. It’s worth noting that, on the Steam store page, the Nvidia GPU requirement is listed as a GTX 2060, but this doesn’t exist, so we can only assume it’s an error, and the card is supposed to be listed as RTX.

You’ll need 16GB of RAM across both requirements tiers, which may catch out a lot of older or budget gaming PCs. The good news is that upgrading to some of the best gaming RAM is one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades to aid your gaming PC’s performance.

As for the Mindseye recommended specs, this is where the demands become a bit unruly. You’ll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT paired with an Intel Core i7 13700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. That’s a seriously hefty demand on the CPU side, and the GPU is pretty high-spec too.

There is another listing error in the recommended specs, as the AMD GPU listed is said to have 8GB of VRAM, but both cards in this tier have at least 12GB, so we’re unsure where this number has come from.

These are shockingly high for recommended specs. I’m hoping that more detailed specs will be released soon to offer context, but we’ve seen games released in the last few years that have used similar specs for the 4K/Ultra tier, such as Horizon Forbidden West.

The Mindseye download size currently sits at 70GB, but curiously, there is no requirement listed for an SSD. Given how the rest of the system requirements have been handled, it seems very strange that you wouldn’t also need one of the best gaming SSDs to optimize game loading times.
