Fans are going gaga over former India captain MS Dhoni‘s unique avatar in the promo ad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 which is breaking the internet. The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start from February 19. With Champions Trophy just over 20 days away, the promo featuring Dhoni has certainly hyped up the tournament.

In the video, Dhoni is heard saying how tough it will be to remain cool while watching Champions Trophy as a fan unlike when he was team’s captain. Reflecting on his own Champions Trophy victory in 2013, he talked about the intense competition of the tournament, stressing that even one loss can lead to elimination. To cope with the anticipated stress and excitement, the legendary captain is seen utilising the fictional “Dhoni Refrigeration System” to keep himself cool during the upcoming event.
“When I was the captain, it was easy to remain cool but it won’t be easy to watch Champions Trophy as a fan. Our team might be strong but if we lose one game, then we’re almost out of the tournament. The temperature has risen so much due to constant tension,” said Dhoni in the promo shared by Star Sports.

Notably, MS Dhoni captained India in two Champions Trophy tournaments, in 2009 and 2013. His leadership in 2013 saw a relatively young Indian team achieve an unbeaten run, winning five consecutive matches and ultimately securing the championship title.
Following their 2013 title triumph, India also reached the final of the subsequent Champions Trophy in 2017, where they faced Pakistan. However, they suffered a heavy 180-run defeat in the final, handing Pakistan their maiden Champions Trophy title. India will be eager to avenge this 2017 loss against the current tournament co-hosts as they begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a highly anticipated match against Pakistan in Dubai on February 23.
