Blizzard has just rolled out a new Diablo 4 hotfix to tackle some of the biggest problems in Season 15. The Season of Hell’s Legacy has, by all accounts, been a rousing success for the RPG, with a blend of 30th-anniversary throwbacks and new features combining to make one of the most entertaining Diablo 4 updates in quite some time. There have been a few issues impeding the fun, however; while some players were busily exploiting functionally infinite loot farming glitches, others couldn’t even access its most valuable payouts.
Community Manager Rich Bantegui runs down the details in the latest Diablo 4 patch notes for 3.2.1 hotfix 4. Starting off is a fix for the issue where, upon pursuing the new secret quest to access the portal to old-school Tristram, using Wirt’s Lucky Coins to initiate its climactic boss battle would consume the item but without spawning the portal. Given that this fight is both a thematic culmination of everything in the season and also one of its most consistent sources of high-tier loot, that’s naturally a big problem. Hopefully, that’s all sorted.
On the other side of things, Blizzard says it has put a stop to a bug allowing players to endlessly farm the Prime Evil Council fight “to gain excessive amounts of experience and loot.” There’s now a cooldown on how often this can actually pay out. It’s also stamped out a more specific exploit that could allow the Butcher to be repeatedly spawned in Nightmare Dungeons; this was more niche in its usability, but it’s probably for the best that it’s gone.
On the balancing side, the issue causing the Warlock’s Fiend of Abbadon to gain huge damage multipliers from its Lesser Demon Bonus has been resolved, and the upgrade in question is re-enabled. In similar fashion, Druid’s Old Mountain Talisman set bonus no longer repeatedly stacks with Grief to amplify your damage far beyond intended amounts.
Blizzard has resolved occasions where Horadric Cube crafting materials, in particular the especially rare Kullean Tuning Prisms used to roll additional legendary aspects on an Amulet, were not being rewarded as promised by certain Kurast Undercity Tributes. It’s also ensured you’ll always get the expected Resplendent Spark from the Resplendent seasonal reputation cache, and fixed some class quest progression blockers.
Diablo 4 patch 3.2.1 hotfix 4 is live now. Given how much there is to discover in the latest update, it’s good to see Blizzard responding to both exploits and disruptions with relative haste, while the Season of Hell’s Legacy still has some real momentum behind it.
